The National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP) Awarding Body is committed to raising the standards within the commercial property sector through the provision of accredited, nationally recognised qualifications. The NFoPP Awarding Body is independent and recognised by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulaotor (Ofqual). This means we have to follow strict guidelines and maintain quality standards in the provision of all our qualifications.

The Diplomas are Level 5 Qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework, which are equivalent to aHND or a pass at foundation degree level. Commercial agents with 3 years or more experience can study for and gain a Diploma in their chosen subject with the support of an expert tutor. The Diploma will give you a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a range of commercial related topics and give you the tools needed to progress within the industry.

As a successful holder of the Diploma in Commercial Property Agency, provided you have 5 years experience in the industry, you would be eligible to apply for the exclusive Fellow grade membership to the Institute of Commercial Business Agents (ICBA). Alternatively you can join at member grade and upgrade once the experience criteria is met. This will in turn demonstrate your integrity as a reputable agent and improve your status within your company.

(Fellow Grade of ICBA will be dependent on ICBA rules and regulations, please check the ICBA website for these rules and regulations)

Studying

The Diploma training is provided by MOL (a division of the Manchester College). They offer a flexible style of learning that means you can study in your own time with the aid of study materials designed specifically for the qualification. A tutor who has experience within your chosen subject and has teaching expertise will be on hand via telephone or email to aid your studies and guide you to success.

We recommend that candidates spend 350 hours studying for the qualification; this can be done at your own pace within the MOL tutor support time constraints. Past examination papers can be purchased to facilitate your learning and of course your tutor can be on hand to mark those for you.

Examinations

The Diploma is divided into 5 Units, 4 Units are assessed by written examinations and 1 Unit requires you to produce a 6000 word project. The examinations are scheduled every April and September. Each examination lasts 3 hours; you need to answer 5 questions from a choice of 8 within this time limit. Please note that some examination papers may be divided into sections, requiring you to answer a set number of questions within each section. For this Diploma this will apply to the following unit, Commercial Property Inspection and Valuation. Your project title and subject are chosen by you with the aid of your tutor. Ideally this project will cover a wide range of subjects within the qualification syllabus.

Costs

The costs for the Diploma in Commercial Property Agency are payable directly to MOL.

For a one off fee of £995 plus £325 for advance payment of exam fees you will be provided with:

How long will the qualification take?

You should allow approximately 350 hours of learning time for the qualification. You must take and pass all five Units within 3 years of the date of first achieving a pass mark in one or more examination, and so you need to be sure that you have the time and resources available to undertake this. It is your responsibility to ensure that you do undertake all the necessary study and assignments within specified timescales.

Examinations are held in April and September each year, and you will be given an individual deadline date for the submission of your project by MOL (a part of Manchester College). Your study can therefore be planned with these dates in mind.

PLEASE NOTE: that the last examinations for this diploma will take place in September 2013. This may mean that you have limited opportunities to sit the examinations.

Results and Certification

Each Unit has a pass mark of 45%. You will receive your results by letter after the papers have been marked and the examinations board has verified the results.

Exemptions

Requests for exemptions from one or more examinations are considered by the Examinations Board and must be made in writing to the NFoPP Qualifications Coordinator.

Exemptions will only be considered if they have been gained within 5 years of sitting the first examination of the DipCPA; and if the qualification to be considered has been externally assessed. No exemptions from the project will be allowed.

Candidates with Disabilities
